Lee Badau is widely regarded as one of the leading R&B Baritone/Tenor Saxophonists on the world Blues scene today. For over 15 years Lee has been a stalwart Band member for the award winning Blues/Soul Legend JAMES HUNTER, appearing on countless albums, videos, media, and extensive World Tours with the enigmatic singer.
Lee came to playing saxophone late, whilst in his early Twenties. Always a lover of Jazz/Blues music and especially the 50’s Rocking scene, he picked a sax up to emulate some of his hero’s that he had grown up listening to...little did he know that he would be soon embarking on a career that would see him playing with many of the self-same artists he idolised so much.
As MD of the House Band, for many years, at the world famous 50’s gathering THE RHYTHM RIOT Lee has performed with Rock & Roll legend’s such as ROSCO GORDON, SAM BUTERA,NAPPY BROWN and CLARENCE FROG MAN HENRY to name but a few. His slick style and rich velvet tone also led to him working with MICK FLEETWOOD, JEFF BECK, RODRIGUEZ, GREGG ALLMAN and the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, ROBERT PLANT, ALLEN TOUSSANT, THE BIG SIX, OCEANS SEVEN as well as a lengthy spell touring and recording with arguably the UK’s rockiest jump jivers THE BIGTOWN PLAYBOYS.
